Photographer Antoine Verglas was born in Paris. He began his career on the other side of the camera, working as the host on a popular French television show after graduating from France's prestigious E.S.C school of business. Verglas then had the idea that this would be his entree to the fast-paced world of fashion photography.
It was then, in 1990, that Verglas moved to New York with his camera and his vision. Luck and persistence paid off, with a documentary-style photo series for French Elle that featured the country's top models. Shooting Stephanie Seymour, Linda Evangelista, Naomi, Claudia Schiffer, and Cindy Crawford at home in very personal portraits just as they were reaching celebrity status was his first big break, and indicative of the style which would become the Verglas signature.
His intimate style of capturing the person behind the camera has led to the rapid pace of work Verglas now has, shooting for the world's top fashion and women's magazines. He works on a regular basis with Hollywood's most glamorous actresses, such as Anjelina Jolie, Elisabeth Hurley, Ashley Judd and Halle Berry. His photographs have appeared internationally in the editions of Elle, Vogue, GQ, Maxim, Esquire, and Sports Illustrated among others. His high-profile advertising campaigns include Mikimoto, Van Cleef & Arpels, Victoria's Secret, Clarins, Calypso, and Nicole Miller, just to name a few.
